Indoor Birdwatching is Lots of Fun to
Indoor birdwatching
You might think that you have to go out on field trips to enjoy bird watching, but bird watching can be as simple as observing them right trough your own windows at home.
Place a bird feeding station next to one or several of your windows and have a pair of binoculars ready at all times, and when an interesting bird shows up you are ready to observe it close up.
The advantages of bird watching inside your home are that you do not startle them like you might do outside, and are therefore able to really study them up close. Now, you can take the time to study their plumage, their eye-color, the shape of their bills, and other interesting bird behavior that would otherwise have been missed.
You can also leave your telescope permanently trained at a busy feeding station to make sure you do not miss any unexpected or unusual bird moments. Remember though to stand further back in the room when you observe them, because the slightest movement can scare off birds like hawks, crows, and herons unnecessarily. Even is this limited space as your own living room, you can actually have the chance to view over 100 different kinds of birds, especially during migration season.
