White Oak

White Oak (Quercus alba), may live for 500 years and grow to a 100ft with huge spreading branches. This is a tree for large properties and open fields, and at least 28 different birds consume its corn. Put one or more hanging bird feeders for the birds to consume during the time the tree is seedless is smart as well.

The White Oak prefers sunny spots, with rich, deep, well-drained loam, but will do well in most varieties of soil. The White Oak can grow up to 100ft and its spread will be around 165ft (50m). An alternative is the Black Oak (Q. velutina), it is a fast-growing tree that grows well on sandy and rocky soil.
