Lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) is a creeping shrub with small oval leaves, and with its pretty pink urn-shaped flowering, is sure to be attracting little hummingbirds in spring time. Its red berries are a favorite to many birds, such as mockingbirds, orioles, catbirds, thrashers, bluebirds, titmice and towhees in early fall.

Place a modern looking bird feeding table in the middle of these lingonberries, and you will have an instant conversation piece. This creeping shrub likes full sun with soil that is moist acid well-drained, and high in organic matter. The height of the lingonberry will be about 1ft (.3m), and have an indefinite spread.
