Types of Birdbaths to Consider in Your Bird Feeding Garden

Types of birdbaths

There are traditional stone birdbaths on pedestals, they are very nice looking but they are usually very heavy and hard to move around.

You have the ceramic birdbaths, not quite so heavy. Consider putting a thin layer of gravel on the bottom, to give the bathing birds a better footing.

There are also shallow metal birdbaths, very modern looking and are fine to use. In colder climates the water will freeze much faster in these kinds of birdbath. To keep it from freezing to fast put a tennis ball in the water, that really helps a lot.

Fiberglass birdbaths that are made to look like stone or other heavy materials are great for all size birds and are also much easier to move of course.
