Where to Place Your Hoppers and Other Ground Feeders
Where to place your hoppers and ground feeders
Your caged hoppers are great for open spaces in your backyard; they will give nice protection for the feeding birds like Dark-eyed Juncos against larger birds, like Jays and Crows. The hoppers will also give great protection against Hawks and Crows and keep your friendly neighborhood squirrel out.
A great way of keeping squirrels busy and away from your different feeding stations is to put out whole corn and peanuts at various places in your bird feeding garden.
To prevent damage to your lawn, a great tip is to move your hoppers and bird tables every few days, it will really make a great difference with such a little effort to assure that your beautiful lawn stays green and healthy looking all year around.
